The Alchemic Cycle is a single channel infinitely looped video work by Sydney-based artist Alex Seton. It shows the artist engaged in a Sisyphean act of breaking down a marble block, baking the powder in a kiln and slaking it in water to reform into a visually identical yet substantially changed block. It explores this perpetual process that has no beginning, middle or end.
